Taschereau, Elzéar Alexandre (ĕlzāär` älĕksäN`drə täshərō`), 1820–98, Canadian Roman Catholic cardinal, b. Quebec prov. He served the Quebec seminary for nearly 30 years, as professor, director, and superior.
