Tasman Bay

Tasman Bay 

a bay of the Tasmanian Sea, situated off northern South Island, New Zealand. Tasman Bay, named in honor of A. Tasman, is 80 km long, about 75 km wide at the entrance, and up to 47 m deep. Tides measure about 0.3 m and are semidiurnal. The port city of Nelson is located at the head of the bay.
