Tatiana Ivanovna Zaslavskaia

Zaslavskaia, Tat’iana Ivanovna 

Born Sept. 9, 1927, in Kiev. Soviet economist, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Became a member of the CPSU in 1954.

Zaslavskaia graduated from the economics department of Moscow State University in 1950. From 1950 to 1963 she was engaged in scholarly work in the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR; since 1963 she has worked in the Institute of Economics and Organization of Industrial Production in the Siberian division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Her main studies have dealt with kolkhoz workers’ pay, social and economic problems of labor resources, and migration of the rural population. Zaslavskaia is the coauthor of the textbook Political Economv (4th ed., 1962).
