Doronina, Tat’iana Vasil’evna 

Born Sept. 12, 1933, in Leningrad. Soviet Russian actress. People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1969).

Doronina graduated from the Studio-School of the Moscow Art Theater in 1956. From 1956 to 1959 she worked at the Lenin Komsomol Leningrad Theater, from 1959 to 1966 at the M. Gorky Leningrad Bol’shoi Dramatic Theater, from 1966 to 1971 at the Moscow Art Theater, and from 1971 at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Moscow Theater. Her most important roles include Nadezhda Monakhova in Gorky’s The Barbarians, Sofia in Griboedov’s Woe From Wit, Lushka in Virgin Soil Upturned (after Sholokhov), and Masha in Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. She also appears in films. Her best screen roles were created by her on the stage: Nadia in Volodin’s My Elder Sister (film title, Elder Sister) and Natasha in Radzinskii’s Once Again About Love (film of the same title). She played the role of Niura in the film Three Poplars on Plushchikha Street.
