Taubaté 

a city in southeastern Brazil, in Säo Paulo State; situated in the Rio Parafba valley, on the Rio de Janeiro-Sáo Paulo highway. Railroad station. Population, 101,100 (1970). Taubaté has automotive and food-processing industries and the production of chemicals and textiles. Founded in 1646, the city is also a commercial center.
