Technicum
the customary name in the USSR and a number of other countries for the main type of specialized secondary educational institution, which trains personnel with specialized secondary education for various branches of industry, agriculture, construction, transportation, and communications. In 1975 there were 4,286 specialized secondary educational institutions in the USSR, including 2,746 technicums. Of those, 1,236 were for industry, 220 for construction, 213 for transportation, 31 for communications, 681 for agriculture, and 361 for economics. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
