This hypothesis is based in particular on the symbolic representation in caves of southern France not only of lions, bisons, horses, rhinos, mammoths, and bulls, but also of symbolic representations of squares, triangles, circles, semicircles, angles, crosses, dots, parallel lines, and tectiforms.
