A family of fishes in the order Elopiformes, including the tarpon, ladyfish, and machete.

Tim Cardno had a 10-pounder while D Chin took a fine 17lb rainbow trout and Ken Bowes and T Rouly each had ten-pounders.
Consulting an encyclopedia, I found out that Chretzer is in fact a Zurich dialect word for Egli (obviously confined to the Rhine region), as is Rehlig for a very big perch, a term also well-known to me as a boy, although such a ten-pounder never felt obliged to take the bait on my fish-hook.
J Forster, fishing a Black Fritz, had a 10lb 11oz rainbow, while Paul Barrow used a Bloodworm to net a fine ten-pounder and G McNichol safely returned an eight-pounder.
