Developmental hormonal profiles accompanying the neonatal hypothyroidism-induced increase in adult testicular size and sperm production in the rat. 1% PTU in drinking water from birth to postnatal day 25 were hypothyroid, had greater testicular size and higher sperm counts, and were 15-20% smaller by weight than were control animals. Gestational and lactational exposure of rats to xenoestrogens results in reduced testicular size and sperm production. |
