a river in Zhitomir and Kiev oblasts, Ukrainian SSR; a right tributary of the Dnieper. The Teterev is 365 km long and drains an area of 15,100 sq km. It originates on the Dnieper Upland, flows through the Poles’e Lowland, and empties into the Kiev Reservoir. It is fed mainly by snow. The mean flow rate 136 km from the mouth is 18.4 cu m per sec.
