Tettegouche State Park Location: 4.5 miles east of Silver Bay on Highway 61. Facilities: 28 drive-in campsites, showers (é), flush toilets (é), 5 backpack campsites, 6 walk-in campsites, 14 cart-in campsites, 5 kayak-in campsites, 4 cabins, guest house, picnic area (é), enclosed picnic shelter (é), hiking trails (23 miles), self-guided trail (2 miles), ski trails (15.5 miles), snowmobile trails (12 miles), fishing pier, hand launch boat ramp, canoe rentals, snowshoe rentals, visitor center (é), historic site, interpretive exhibits, gift shop. Activities: Camping, lake and river fishing, boating (no motors), canoeing, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, rock climbing, wildlife/peregrine falcon observation. Special Features: Park provides a great sense of the North Shore, with spectacular overlooks at Shovel Point; rocky, steep cliffs and inland bluffs; and the High Falls of the Baptism River. Park serves as one of the headquarters for information on the North Shore.
