Delaware Canal State Park Location: Park follows the Delaware River from Easton to Bristol, paralleled by PA Routes 611 and 32. Facilities: Picnic area, multi-use trails (60 miles), boat launch, visitor center. Activities: Boating (electric motors only), canoeing, fishing, hiking, nature and historic programs. Special Features: The Delaware Canal is the only remaining continuously intact remnant of the great towpath canals of the early and mid-19th century. Today, nearly all of its features remain as they were during its 100 years of commercial operation. A walk along the towpath is a trip back in history. Park contains the historic canal and towpath, shoreline, and 11 river islands.
