| Formerly open to licensed physical therapists only, the estimated $460,000 in Foundation funding awarded each year will now be available to licensed physical therapist assistants on a competitive basis. LANCASTER -- A proposed municipal ordinance to regulate massage businesses -- some of which have become fronts for prostitution, illegal drug activity and money laundering, city officials say -- has rubbed massage therapists the wrong way. The idea was to create a statewide group of private physical therapists large enough to induce big insurers to funnel patients to therapists within the network. |
