While some of the bones appear bird-like, they also look dinosaurian and could represent a new type of therapod dinosaur, says Gauthier. He says the dinosaur deserves its own family (Baryonychidea, meaning "strong claw") on the basis of its "enormously elongated snout," twice the usual therapod number of teeth, and powerful forelimbs with at least one large claw. |
