thermal greaseA conductive substance that is used to transfer heat from one device to another. For example, when a heat sink is attached to a chip, there is a huge number of microscopic gaps between the two surfaces. The thermal grease helps bond the two surfaces and transfer the heat more effectively. See heat sink. How to thank TFD for its existence? CLEVELAND -- Laird Technologies Thermal Products (formerly known as Thermagon) today unveiled T-grease(TM) 880, its newest high-performance, stable and reliable silicone-based thermal grease developed to solve overheating issues in advanced computer chips, graphic processing units and ASICs. The eGraf 700 and 1200 series of thermally conductive interface materials offer superior performance when compared to commonly used thermal interface products such as thermal greases and phase change materials. ITO-220 products simplify assembly since they do not require insertion of insulating pads and thermal grease between the device and the heatsink. |
