Thompson, Victor A. (Alexander) (1912– ) political scientist; born in Hannah, N.D. He earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University. His academic career began at Illinois Institute of Technology (1950–62) and ended at the University of Florida: Gainesville (1971–81). His books on bureaucracy and public administration include Bureaucracy and Innovation (1969) and Bureaucracy and the Modern World (1976).
