Three Saints Bay
a bay on the southeastern coast of Kodiak Island in the northern part of the Gulf of Alaska. The bay is approximately 20 km long and 7.5 km wide at the entrance, with depths exceeding 50 m. Tides are irregular and semidiurnal; tidal range is approximately 4 m. The bay was discovered by Russian seafaring traders in the second half of the 18th century. G.I. Shelikhov established a Russian settlement there in 1784, and the bay was named after one of his ships, the Tri Sviatitelia (“Three Saints”). Want to thank TFD for its existence?
