Tiablikov, Sergei Vladimirovich 

Born Sept. 7, 1921, in Klin; died Mar. 3, 1968, in Moscow. Soviet physicist. Doctor of physicomathematical sciences (1954).

Tiablikov graduated from Moscow State University in 1944. He joined the staff of the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in 1947 and became a professor at Moscow State University in 1964.

Tiablikov’s main works dealt with statistical mechanics and solid-state theory. He established the basis for the modern quantum theory of ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism. In 1959, together with N. N. Bogoliubov, he developed the method of two-time temperature Green functions. Tiablikov received the State Prize of the USSR in 1970.
