Tiaret

Tiaret (tyärā`), city (1998 pop. 145,332), NW Algeria, capital of Tiaret prov. Since Roman times it has been the center of a prosperous agricultural area. It was completely rebuilt after its capture by the French in 1843. The name also appears as Tihert.

a city in northwestern Algeria and capital of Tiaret Wilaya. Population, 37,100 (1966). Tiaret, a trade and transportation center of an agricultural region, has enterprises of the food and textile industries.

Summary: ALGIERS- Four international companies have been shortlisted Monday for the next invitation to tender to design engineering surveys on the new refinery of Tiaret (416-km west of Algiers) Four international companies have been shortlisted Monday for the next invitation to tender to design engineering surveys on the new refinery of Tiaret (416-km west of Algiers), while eight other companies and consortia have been approved for the commercial phase of the renovation of Algiers' refinery.
Plants will be established in Tiaret, Ain Smara and Oued Hamimine under partnerships expected to include the Algerian government and private investors.
Germany's MAN Ferrostaal, a global provider of industrial services in plant construction and engineering, will carry out the entire project as general contractor and is expected to modernise and build production facilities in Algeria's Tiaret, Ain Smara and Oued Hamimine.
