WOODLAND HILLS -- Wearing appropriate disguises to get them in the mood, members of the Temple Kol Tikvah Chorale will raise their voices tonight during a Purim shpiel based on the 19th century operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan.
More than 600 US athletes participated in 27 sporting competitions at this year's Maccabiah Games, which was held from July 10 through July 21 in Petah Tikvah, Israel.
Intended for an adult audience, Tikvah consists of original images created by 43 distinguished contemporary children's book illustrators on a component of human rights important to them, including child labor, education and reading, enjoyment of life, oppression and persecution, religion, and social justice.
