As a predecessor to the Chi-Cheemaun, it last operated as a car ferry between Manitoulin Island and Tobermory. The Ninawayma, a second car ferry that ran between Tobermory and South Baymouth in the early 1990s, is undergoing a $20-million conversion into a cruise ship. Its rural hospitals are located in Lion's Head, Meaford, Markdale, Southampton, Wiarton and a clinic in Tobermory. |
