(organic chemistry)
CH3C6H3(NCO)2A liquid (at room temperature) with a sharp, pungent odor; miscible with ether, acetone, and benzene; used to make polyurethane foams and other elastomers, and also as a protein cross-linking agent.

Bayer MaterialSeienee LLC, Pittsburgh, PA, has lifted Force Majeure regarding its ability to supply toluene diisocyanate (TDI) products in North America, effective January 1, 2007.
She wrote the technical support documents on MIC and toluene diisocyanate for the National Advisory Committee on Acute Exposure Guideline Levels, which have been published by the National Academy Press.
The former, a mixed-isomer toluene diisocyanate used in the manufacture of flexible foams.
