The map represents the horizontal and vertical positions of the features represented. It is a graphic representation delineating natural and man-made features of an area or region in a way that shows their relative positions and elevations. |

| After 8 years of relaying pictures, topographic maps, magnetic field data, and compositional information from above the Red Planet, NASA's Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft appears to have called it quits. Elevations and cross-sections of the area can be viewed or imported into CAD software to produce topographic maps. This standard topographic and geodetic information includes analogue topographic maps (photomaps) and charts, as well as digital and electronic maps. |
