torsional vibration [′tȯr·shən·əl vī′brā·shən]
(mechanics)
A periodic motion of a shaft in which the shaft is twisted about its axis first in one direction and then in the other; this motion may be superimposed on rotational or other motion.

Line Splice contains HNBR sealing sleeves that will hold up to all automotive fluids and metal compression ferrules that are not affected by torsional vibration, making a permanent seal that can withstand pressures over 2300 psi.
Its crankshaft was fitted with a torsional vibration damper (a vibration absorber) to deal with the added torsional shaft stress produced by the more powerful engine.
