Towada, Lake

Lake, northern Honshu, Japan. It occupies a volcanic crater and is 27 mi (44 km) in circumference. The third deepest lake in Japan, it is 1,096 ft (334 m) deep at its centre. It lies in Towada-Hachimantai National Park, a popular recreation area.
