Trachonitis

Trachonitis (trăk'ənī`tĭs), region, ancient Palestine, NE of the Sea of Galilee and SE of Damascus. It formed part of the tetrarchy of Herod Philip and Herod Agrippa I. It is mentioned in the Gospel of St. Luke.
