track-at-once |
Also found in: Acronyms, Wikipedia | 0.02 sec. |
track-at-onceTo record all the data on a CD-R disc one track at a time. The laser is turned off after each track, which produces a two-second gap. The track-at-once feature, which was added shortly after the first CD-R drives were introduced, enables songs and data to be written at different intervals. The lead-in sectors that are written at the beginning of each session contain the location where additional data can be placed on the disc.

VariRec is only available with Track-at-Once and Disc-at-Once recording modes at 4 X CD-Write speeds. This differs from how track-at-once CD-R discs are typically written, where the data area is written first, followed by the lead-in/table of contents and lead Out areas. The drive supports a wide variety of CD writing modes, including Track-at-Once, Disc-at-Once, Session-at-Once, Multisession, and variable/fixed packet writing. |
