Transudate
an edematous fluid that collects in the body’s cavities as a result of disturbances in the circulation of blood or in the flow of lymph (such as ascites, or abdominal dropsy, in cases of cardiac insufficiency or cirrhosis of the liver). Transudation, in contrast to exudation, may take place without inflammation of the tissues. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
