| To develop a laboratory lubricated rubber test, the automated computer-controlled Tribometer LRI-1a was selected. Equipment including tribometers to accurately measure the slipperiness of flooring tiles and marble and infrared cameras to identify "hot spots," that might indicate structural or system weaknesses are often employed. Among his many accomplishments is the development of a computer-controlled tribometer system capable of accurate measurement of friction and a theoretical method for finite-element-analysis-based analysis of brake noise. |
