a publishing company in the USA. The Tribune Company, founded in 1919, publishes newspapers, including the New York Daily News and the Chicago Tribune. It owns several radio stations and paper companies, as well as the Chicago Tribune-New York Daily News press syndicate, which supplies news stories, feature articles, and photographs to a large number of newspapers and other publications.

A deal already approved by the bankruptcy judge would have the Cubs, their historic Wrigley Field ballpark and a part ownership of a sports television network owned 95 percent by Ricketts and five percent by Tribune Company.
The Tribune Company Friday said it had a definitive agreement to sell all but a five percent stake in the team and historic Wrigley Field ballpark to the Ricketts, the culmination of long and convoluted negotiations.
