TruSecure

(TruSecure Corporation, Herndon, VA, www.trusecure.com) A leader in information security assurance that merged in 2004 with Betrusted Holdings, Inc. to form Cybertrust, creating the world's largest privately held information security firm at the time. TruSecure goes back to the National Computer Security Association (NCSA), a membership organization for education and communication about computer security, founded in 1989. In 1998, NCSA changed its name to the International Computer Security Association (ICSA), which later evolved into TruSecure.

In 2007, Cybertrust was purchased by Verizon Business to be part of its Security Solutions division. Included in the acquisition was ICSA Labs, an independent division of Cybertrust, that does testing, certification and research on 95% of antivirus software, firewalls and cryptography products on the market today. ICSA Labs also publishes surveys, security industry studies and buyers' guides for computer security products.
