TrueHD
(1) A digital audio encoding system from Dolby Laboratories for Blu-ray discs that provides up to eight 24-bit channels of digital audio at 96 kHz. In order to send Dolby TrueHD signals from the player to the TV, the equipment must support HDMI 1.3 connections. See HDMI and Dolby Digital.

(2) (True HD) An earlier designation for TV sets with 1080p resolution. See 1080p and HDTV.
