Tsiklinskii, Nikolai Nikolaevich 

Born Apr. 3 (15), 1884, in Novozybkov; died July 26, 1938, in Leningrad. Soviet radio engineer.

Tsiklinskii graduated from the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute in 1907. A member of the institute’s teaching staff from 1910 to 1936, he was appointed a professor in 1934. Tsiklinskii headed the development and construction of radio stations at the radiotelegraph plant of the Naval Administration from 1914 to 1924. He was director of the Central Radio Laboratory from 1926 to 1928. Between 1926 and 1936 he helped establish the Soviet radio industry. From 1934 to 1936 he was involved in radar research. Tsiklinskii was the author of works on electronic measurements, the design of radio stations, and research and teaching methods in radio engineering.
