Tübingen 

a city in the Federal Republic of Germany, in the Land of Baden-Württemburg, on the Neckar River. Population, 70,600 (1974). Tübingen is a railroad junction. The city has met-alworking, precision machine-building, electrical-engineering, and textile industries. Tübingen is the site of a university, founded in 1477.
