Turan
a city and the administrative center of Pii-Khem Raion, Tuva ASSR. Turan is located in the Turan-Uiuk Basin on the Turan River, a left tributary of the Uiuk, which flows into the BiiKhem, or Bol’shoi Enisei. Situated on the Us Route, which runs between Kyzyl and Abakan, the city is 70 km northwest of Kyzyl and 367 km from the Abakan railroad station. Turan has an industrial combine and a state forestry establishment, as well as a people’s amateur theater.
