Turkey Run State Park Location: West central Indiana, along State Road 47 southwest of Crawfordsville, two miles east of State Road 41. Facilities: 213 campsites with electricity, showers, and flush toilets, youth tent camping areas, camp store, inn accommodations (Turkey Run Inn), including rooms and cabins, a restaurant, and meeting and conference facilities, picnic area, playground, tennis courts, playfields, shelters, trails, saddle barn, swimming pool, historic homes and buildings, nature center with planetarium, naturalist services. Activities: Camping, swimming, fishing, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, tennis, guided tours, interpretive programs. Special Features: A number of historic structures are preserved at the park, including the Lusk Home, built in 1841, and Lieber Cabin, which was built in the 1840s of virgin timber and is the oldest of its kind in the state. The park is also the final resting place of Colonel Richard Lieber, who is considered the father of Indiana State Parks.
