Turner, Roscoe

Turner, Roscoe (1895–1970) aviator; born in Corinth, Mass. He served in the Balloon Service during World War I and then worked as a circus lion tamer, parachute jumper, and stunt flyer. In the 1930s Turner, a colorful personality, broke transcontinental speed records seven times and won many awards for his flying.
