TzeltalMayan Indian group of central Chiapas state in southern Mexico. Traditionally an agricultural people, they cultivate corn (maize), beans, chiles, squash, manioc, and peanuts with digging sticks and hoes. Their major crafts are pottery, weaving, and basketry.
