URL hijacking

Also called "typosquatting," it refers to taking advantage of common typos users make when entering a Web address into their browser. A domain name with a misspelled version of a popular URL is legally registered. The site, which may offer a competitive or entirely different product or be a soapbox for some cause, is accessed every time someone misspells the intended name. See cybersquatting and page hijacking.
