The USOC board of directors announced the formation of a search committee that will launch a search for a full-time replacement, the third person to guide the national Olympic group since the start of the year.
USOC chief executive officer Jim Scherr said the group's board of directors agreed to the cuts, trimming a planned 2009 budget of 142.
Nevertheless he had hoped to force the USOC to allow him to compete in this week's Olympic trials.
