Uchum

 

a balneological and pelotherapeutic resort in Uzhur Raion, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. Uchum is situated on Lake Uchum, 10 km from the Uchum-Achinsk railroad station and 380 km southwest of Krasnoiarsk. Summers are moderately warm (average July temperature, 17°C), and winters are cold (average January temperature, –20°C). Annual precipitation is 350 mm. Patients are treated by bathing in the mud and brine of Lake Uchum and drinking sulfate-hydrocarbonate-sodium and magnesium-calcium waters from local mineral springs.

The resort has facilities for the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, gynecological disorders, and diseases of the peripheral nervous system and associated disorders of the digestive organs. It has a sanatorium and a clinic for water and mud baths.
