Ulhasnagar (l`həsnəgər), city (1991 pop. 368,772), Maharashtra state, W central India. It is a residential and industrial suburb of Mumbai, with chemical and textile chemicals. It lies in the Thane industrial area.
Ulhasnagar 

a city in western India, in the state of Maharashtra, on the Ulhas River. Population, 168,000 (1971). A transportation junction, Ulhasnagar has close economic ties with Bombay. The city’s main industries are food processing and light industry.
