Ulm Pishkun State Park Location: 10 miles south of Great Falls on I-15 at Ulm Exit, then 6 miles northwest on Ulm-Vaughn road. Facilities: Picnic area, trails, visitor center, meeting room. Activities: Hiking, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs. Special Features: This prehistoric bison kill site consists of a mile-long buffalo jump, or "pishkun," thought to be the largest in the United States. The modern visitor center features displays and activities that explain the importance of the buffalo to the native people of the Plains. The top of the jump offers panoramic views of the Rocky Mountain Front, the Missouri River, and the buttes and grasslands that characterize the area.
