Ulrich, Edward Oscar (1857–1944) geologist, paleontologist; born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was curator of the Cincinnati Society of Natural History (1877–81), paleontologist for geological surveys of the U.S. Midwest (1885–96), and geologist for the U.S. Geological Survey (1897–1932). He made significant contributions to marine invertebrate paleozoology and chronologic stratigraphy.
