United Press International 

(UPI), one of the largest press agencies in the USA. Established in 1958, UPI has its headquarters in New York. It is owned by the Media News Corporation of Nashville, Tenn. The information distributed by UPI is in keeping with the interests of the ruling circles of the USA. More than 1,000 newspapers and 3,000 radio stations in the USA, as well as many foreign information agencies, use UPI material.
