The Philips LPC210X chips, based upon the ARM7TDMI-S processor core, feature a wide range of on-chip peripherals including multiple timers, universal asynchronous receiver/transmitters (UARTs), serial peripheral interface (SPI), inter-integrated circuit (I2C) and an analogue to digital converter for the more recently announced chips. To support the ever-increasing speed and complexity in today's designs, Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE:PHG) (AEX:PHI) today announced the industry's first Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) with 256 Byte FIFO and real time error detection. Other enhancements include additional peripherals such as a five channel program counter array (PCA), serial peripheral interface (SPI), keyboard interrupt interface, hardware watchdog timer, and enhanced Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) with a dedicated baud rate generator and automatic address recognition. |
