Unix International

Unix International
A non-profit industry association founded to provide direction for Unix System V. It was disbanded in 1993 after Novell purchased Unix from AT&T. See Unix history and Unix.
(body)Unix International - (UI) A consortium including Sun, AT&T and others formed to promote an open environment based on Unix System V, including the Open Look windowing system.

During his career, Bishop has held leadership positions at 2nd Wave, CompuCare Management Systems, Lotus Computing Corporation, Tandem Computers, UNIX International, Bell Laboratories, and IP Axess, an IP telephony company.
His next move involved heading the Unix international steering committee, traveling the globe to unite major companies like Sony, Hitachi and Hewlett Packard in developing a cohesive Unix system.
He was also the manager of Unix development tools at Tandem Computers Inc, and the assistant vice president of technology at Unix International.
