upper control limit [¦əp·ər kən′trōl ‚lim·ət]
(industrial engineering)
A horizontal line on a control chart at a specified distance above the central line; if all the plotted points fall between the upper and lower control lines, the process is said to be in control.

One point is above the upper control limit and few points are near the control limits.
At Point 3 on the chart, the deviation of the dimension was out of the established parameter (above the upper control limit (UCL) for the dimension).
