Earlier work showed that during the first year of life, uncircumcised boys have 10 to 20 times as many urinary tract infections as circumcised boys do. Problems included: lack of transport; inadequate staff numbers; longer-than-expected travel times resulting in food and water rationing; failure to take medications, oxygen canisters and incontinence supplies; and dehydration, pressure sores and travel-related illnesses, such as urinary tract infections. ProQuin(R) XR (ciprofloxacin hydrochloride) once daily, extended-release tablets have been approved by the FDA for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections. |
