Usievich, Elena Feliksovna
Born Feb. 20 (Mar. 4), 1893, in Yakutsk; died Jan. 15, 1968, in Moscow. Soviet literary critic. Member of the CPSU from 1915. Daughter of F. la. Kohn and wife of G. A. Usievich. Usievich took part in the October Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War of 1918–20. In 1932 she graduated from the Institute of the Red Professors. Her work was first published in 1928. She is the author of Vladimir Mayakovsky (1950), Vanda Vasilevskaia (1953), Paths of Artistic Truth (1958), and many articles on problems of Soviet literature. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
